Roller Derby

Northern Virginia’s new 18+ Men’s, Women’s, and CoEd league! Battlefield Roller Derby is proud to announce they are now a non for profit 501 (c)(3) corp.

Battlefield will raise funds through membership fees, sponsorship from local companies and event ticket sales.  A portion of these proceeds will be donated to nonprofit organization within PWC and surrounding counties.  The BRD vision is to promote fitness, diversity and roller derby to all members of Prince William County and the surrounding suburbs. Battlefield is here to improve the overall fitness and health level of the citizens in Prince William County and surrounding areas.  Roller derby requires aerobic fitness as well as strength and flexibility to participate at the beginner levels.  Improving fitness while having fun is an accurate way to describe roller derby.  In addition, all family members can participate in this activity.

Come out any Thursday at 8pm to join in the Roller Derby fun. Don’t know how to skate? Thats ok we have extra gear and will teach you!

Interested in being a Derby player?

Anyone can get involved in one way or another. Even if you aren’t looking to become a skater, we want you. Opportunities exist for refs, announcers, non-skating officials, and more.

If you’re interested in joining as a skater, we’re looking for you. There is no typical roller derby player. Players come in every shape and size, from any age group, and from all walks of life.

NO experience is necessary to become a great roller derby player. If you have the dedication, we will make sure you get the training.

However, Roller Derby is a serious commitment. Whether it’s practices, bouts, meetings, or other events, a decent amount of time is required, as is a LOT of effort.

Ok, you’re interested, so what do you do now?!?

First, request the paperwork and give that to one of the league officers.

This includes:

1. General Skater Information (This is not shared with anyone)

2. Emergency Contact Information

3. Assumption of Risk Agreement

4. Copy of your health insurance

( Electronic copy  is preferred )

Once you’ve filled out your paperwork, you will need to pay your one time enrollment fee of $25 (includes: Battlefield T -shirt, and TeamSnap set up) plus your first month’s dues for a total of $65. Dues go toward our practice space at the Manassas Armory, liability insurance, and covers other league fees. Dues are $40 a month and need to be paid by the 1st practice of each month. If you want to try Battlefield Roller Derby before making a commitment, Battlefield will give you 4 free practices days.
